Earlier this year, I saw my first Heath piece at an antique shop in West Portal in S.F. (and boy, was this serving bowl a beaut.)... did a little research... and was delightedly surprised they're just a stone's throw away. So My girlfriend and I planned a Sunday to visit the store for their tour and maybe pick up a few pieces. Unfortunately, we missed the tour, but that didn't stop us from having a wonderful experience at their factory store... John, the store manager, and an associate were not only helpful, but knowledgeable about the ceramics, you could've mistaken them as one of the craftspeople. They helped us with our selection and I felt as if I was being given a personal tour with all the info they were sharing. To top it off, they were suppose to close @5pm, but they stayed an extra half hr on a Sunday to make sure we were happy with the purchase. I rarely trek out of S.F., but this place and the people are absolutely a pleasure to visit.
